For digital artwork my prefered tools include MyPaint, Art Rage, and Photoshop. My digital techniques closely resemble my traditional methods. This piece was a quick practice piece. |
I once worked in many traditional medias, including oil, acrylic, caesine, water color, color pencil, pastel. Right now I limit things to color pencil and acrylic. This piece was color pencil practice study. |
I work in three alternative vector programs: Inkscape, Xara, and Serif Draw Plus. All of these programs have superior qualities. The alternative vector pieces shown on this page were all done for freelance jobs. |
I do 3D modeling and rendering for visual mock ups of products. For this I use the general purpose Carrara - oft referred to as the illustrators 3D program. This model was built in Carrara Pro, It is a personal project still in progress. I have a few such projects that I open every once in a while to add more work to. I once scuplted in clay and 3D modeling sort of fills that empty space. |
Illustrator is the industry standard. Even though I use other vector programs - it is oft requested that the art be created with Illustrator. Both Illustrator pieces shown here are personal projects. One stemmed from a freelance job - the card. It struck me as a great way to depict the oft used concept of love or money. |
I have used
many programs in my time |

This portfolio contains a cross section of freelance work (including low budget work), personal projects, sketches and studies. All done in a gambit of digital and traditional mediums. This seeming cross section of work somewhat reflects the fact that a few years after starting to freelance - the crash of 2008 hit. At that time any work was good work, so I used all of my skills to keep work coming in. |
